The film making was based on motifs of the tale Kamarát Jašek (The Fellow Jašek) written by Dobroslav Chrobák. The shadows of one old tragedy or of a crime, perhaps, start a secret family drama in which the passions, death and crime mix with the lyrical desire for dream love.
The sad story reveals the secret drama of one family in the tangle of passions, death and crime. The love of young lumberjack Jašek for sawmill owner’s daughter Ethel is imperilled by the old tragedy which had happened in sole house in the middle of mountains and it forced Factor to stay with the daughter far away from the rest of the world. However, the past emerges in the form of mysterious man that one day appears at sawmill.
